The sister initiative to the Tanzania Digital Awards, organised by Serengeti Bytes Rwanda with Mashariki Creative International — registered in Rwanda in 2025 at Norrsken House Kigali.

Sister to the Tanzania Digital Awards
TDA launched in January 2020 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Its second season alone drew 60,000+ nominations and 250,000+ votes.

Objectives
Recognise excellence across the breadth of Rwanda's digital and creative economy.
Position Kigali as a regional convening point for innovation recognition.
Build a credible, independently governed jury process protecting award integrity.
Create a sustainable annual platform co-owned by government, private sector and development partners.
Governance & judging
Public nomination and voting, combined with criteria-based expert judging. Category sponsors have no vote in their category.
Independent Jury
7–9 members from Rwanda's tech and creative sectors, academia, and regional peers, chaired by a figure agreed jointly with MINICT.
Government Observer
A non-voting observer seat for MINICT/RDB to safeguard alignment with national priorities and reporting standards.
Public + Expert Judging
Public nomination and voting combined with criteria-based expert judging — category sponsors have no vote in their category.
Secretariat
Serengeti Bytes Rwanda manages delivery, sponsor relations and production, drawing on six seasons of TDA experience.
Government partnership
RDA seeks formal partnership with MINICT and RDB — ministerial patronage, endorsement, a government observer seat on the jury.
